Botox and filler are the two most preferred procedures among medical aesthetic applications.
Both procedures are non-surgical aesthetic procedures performed with the help of minimal needles. However, botox and filling process are different from each other. Botox is made to temporarily weaken the muscles and to minimize the wrinkles formed by expression lines. Filling application is done to add fullness to the areas that lost their volume with age. Filling applications are commonly made around the lips, cheeks and mouth.
What is Botox ?
Botox is a toxin derived from botulinum bacteria. It acts by blocking the nerve endings of the muscles where it is injected. Botox, which is made to remove wrinkles on the face, is mostly applied to remove crow's feet, horizontal lines on the forehead and frown lines. The purpose of Botox application is to prevent fine lines from turning into deep wrinkles and to remove the wrinkles that occur. The effect of Botox lasts for 4-6 months. Therefore, the application must be repeated regularly. However, while the frequency of sessions is 4-6 for people who have botox for the first time, the session interval for people who have regular botox is getting longer.
What is Filling ?
Filling application is done to give volume and shape to the areas of the face that have lost volume, to add volume to thin lips and to remove mimic wrinkles. It is usually done using hyaluronic acid fillers. Filling application is very effective in deep wrinkles that cannot be removed with Botox. Wrinkles are minimized with the filling process, which is a non-surgical aesthetic application. Filling application removes the collapses on the face, giving the person a younger and healthier appearance.
What are the Differences between Botox and Filling Application?
The biggest difference of filler application from botox application is that its effect lasts longer. While Botox application lasts for about 4-6 months, the effect of filling application lasts for an average of 12-18 months depending on the type. Botox is a toxin derived from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. The filler is a gel consisting of hyaluronic acid. Botox is applied for wrinkles formed by contracted muscles, while filler is applied for wrinkles formed by contraction of any muscle. Botox relaxes the muscles and prevents the formation of wrinkles. Filling increases the volume and fills the gaps. At the same time, filling application is also done to give contours to the face.
